South Yorkshire Fencing
South Yorkshire Fencing has a vision to improve the standard of Fencing in the county, and we aim to achieve this through three strands of development work.
Clubs
We aim to deliver club volunteer and officials training, in line with British Fencing's development policy, with an aim for clubs to achieve the SwordMark (Fencing's ClubMark). In addition to this, we also want to support clubs with building quality and capacity through a programme of coach education.
Coaches
We are delivering a programme of coach education sessions together with associated UK Sports Coach courses delivered through Sheffield Hallam University.
BAF / BFA Qualifications in coaching at Level 1 and Level 2 can be achieved and there may be some funding options that we can let you know about, that may make these courses more cost effective for you.
Schools
In association with the Legacy Project for the 2011 Senior European Fencing Championships, Sheffield - at the EISS - from 13 - 19 July 2011.
A schools project of Go-Fence will be delivered in after school sessions, these sessions will be lead by youth sports leaders and school teachers.
If you are interested in leading Go-Fence sessions or having them at your school, please contact us for more information.
Volunteers
Clubs and Events are always looking for quality volunteers, usually job specific training can be arranged, but a keen interest in fencing is a must.
